Valve officially announced Counter-Strike 2, the next step in the franchise, through a series of videos on their YouTube channel showcasing some of the changes we'll see this summer.
These changes include updated maps, tick rates, and a complete rework of how smoke grenades function.
Counter-Strike 2 — developed under the Source 2 engine — will be a free upgrade for CS:GO, as revealed by the Seattle-based company in a blog post on their website.
A Limited Test has been announced that will allow selected players to experiment with the new version. The criteria for participation in the test include recent gameplay on official Valve servers, trust factor, and good standing of the Steam account.

It's been 25 years since the release of the original Half-Life, one of the most important video games of all time.
To celebrate the event, Valve released a major update to the game that adds new features and support for modern monitors, restores cut and lost content, introduces full Steam Deck support, and much more - with the entire game available for free until November 20.
